Subject: Reve Systems will be closed from March 26 to April 4, 2020 to prevent the spread of coronavirus :::
Dear colleagues,
Greetings
Reve Systems will be closed from March 26 to April 4 to prevent the spread of coronavirus. All of our colleagues will work from home during this period. Whether it’s done by choice or by necessity, working from home has its benefits, like avoiding our daily commute. But it also means it’s up to us to motivate ourselves and get as much out of our time as we would in an office setting. To help, here are seven tips to keep ourselves accountable, collaborative, productive and mentally healthy:
Tip 1: Create “work” triggers for our brain
When we work in an office, the daily routine of getting ready and commuting helps our brain get ready for the day. When we’re working remotely, we can create “start the day” triggers that get our head ready for work in a similar way, like weak up early, exercise, take shower, get formal dressed etc. We should pretend that we are not at home.
Tip 2: Keep a dedicated workplace at home
If available, choose a separate room as dedicated workspace. We should request our family members to cooperate us so that we can work without any disturbance. Since we need to get connected with our colleagues/line managers/dept head for a certain period of time and may attend video call, meetings, online training so it is our sole responsibilities to ensure distraction free workflow.
Tip 3: Dress up properly
Experts and psychologists say the clothes we wear influence our mood. Absolutely, wearing formal attire (shirt or polo T-shirt) makes us feel much more professional and create our right mindset to work. This also help us to attend online video conference/meeting with supervisors/seniors without any delay. Routine is important for maintaining our mental health and getting dressed is an important part of that routine. Getting dressed makes the home office more like a real office, and tells and reminds everyone, especially you, that even though you may be sitting on the sofa reading, browsing the Web, or talking on the phone, that you are actually working.
Tip 4: Stay motivated with a list
A simple to-do list can do wonders for keeping us both organized, motivated, and productive as we work from home. As we create our list, think about big, long-term goals, like finishing a project, as well as small goals, like completing tasks that lead to that big goal. Checking off those smaller goals lets us know we’re making progress, which gives us positive reinforcement throughout our day. And work feels much more doable when it’s not all one giant task.
Tip 5: Make a schedule for everything
Remote work requires a schedule much like a typical office job, except we’re the only one holding ourselves accountable. That doesn’t mean our entire day has to be work only (it’s actually important to take regular breaks to refresh ourselves mentally, physically, and emotionally), just that any nonwork activities also need to be scheduled.
Tip 6: Create a process for collaboration
Working from home might seem like a solo experience, but it usually still involves interacting with others, whether it’s meeting with our team, getting assignments, making decisions, or giving and receiving feedback. So, it’s important to set up methods for collaboration while we work remotely. Talking face to face can help collaboration, so, consider videoconferencing for these moments.
Tip 7: Let’s protect out data, protect our devices
Always keep cybersecurity in mind. That means protecting our devices and data, just like we would in the workplace. Since all our required software/facilities has been incorporated in our laptop already so we should not download any apps, install any software without prior approval from our line managers. We should not expose our confidential work or data to anyone who is not authorized. We should take 100% ownership to make sure our devices and data are secured.
Let’s do our best to ensure our 100% productivity and stay connected!
